▸ Why CoKo

Built by two shops that have seen everything.

CoKo Motors International is a partnership between Le Hangar 23 in Costa Mesa, California, and Fonk Motorcycle in Kobe, Japan. Two shops, both built around vintage Triumphs, both run by people who have spent years pulling these bikes apart and putting them back together.

We started CoKo because buying a vintage Triumph from across the Pacific has always been a gamble. You see a few photos, you wire the money, you hope. We thought it should work better than that.

II. § 02 — How it works

Two inspections.
One bike.

Every bike on this site is sourced in the United States, inspected in California, shipped to Kobe, and re-inspected on arrival. Two shops, two reports, one bike you can buy without flying to see it first.

№ 01 — Found in California

Sourced in the US.

We source bikes through our network in the US, where the supply of pre-1980 Triumphs is still deep. Private sellers, estate sales, and other Triumph shops who know we'll give a bike a fair look.

№ 02 — Inspected twice

Once in Costa Mesa. Once in Kobe.

Once in Costa Mesa by Elliott's team. Once again in Kobe by Satoshi's team after the bike arrives. Two reports. One bike. Both reports stay public — we don't quietly edit the first one.

№ 03 — Sold with everything documented

Nothing hidden.

You see the inspection notes, the photos, the flaws, and the work that's been done before you commit. If the petcock is seized, we say the petcock is seized — and we show you the photograph.

III. § 03 — The shops 9,140 km

▸ 9,140 km · Costa Mesa & Kobe

Two shops.
One bike at a time.

Satoshi runs Fonk Motorcycle in Kobe — a shop known across Japan for its vintage Triumph work. Elliott runs Le Hangar 23 in Costa Mesa — one of the few US shops where pre-unit Triumphs are everyday work, not specialty work.

They started CoKo together because the bikes deserved a better way to travel.
